Skutt FireBox 8x6 LT - 115 volts, 15 amps, 1800 watts

The kiln that does it all. Fire Ceramics, Glass, or Metal Clay.

Fire Ceramics, Glass, Metal Clay- this kiln does it all with easy-to-use preset programs. It uses standard household voltage, has a CSA safety listing, and comes standard with a shelf kit, an instructional DVD, and kiln wash.

The FireBox 8x6 LT has many features, including a brand-new controller, a stay-cool handle, and a lip that opens more than 90 degrees.

This kiln functions using standard Canadian household current but requires a dedicated 20-amp electrical circuit. It comes with an electrical cord that has a Canadian CSA Standard NEMA 5-20 plug. To use this kiln, ensure that an appropriate electrical socket is installed at your site to accommodate the plug.

FireBox 8x6 LT can be shipped by Canada Post.

Brand New Controller

The FireBox 8×6 LT now has a brand new controller that allows you to fire Glass and Ceramics. It even has built-in programs for Precious Metal Clay.

Here is what you get:

GlassFire Mode allows you to create a program simply by choosing your technique and speed. It’s that easy!
ConeFire Mode allows you to fire Ceramics simply by entering the Cone Value, Firing Speed and Hold Time.
PMC Mode is even easier. All you enter is the type of Metal Clay you are using and press start.
Create your own firing programs with up to 8 Segments using Ramp and Hold. Now you can store up to 5 programs.
Adjust temperatures or hold times while the kiln is firing using Add Time or Add Temp or simply select Anneal Now to set your project and begin annealing it

Plugs Into Household Voltage

The FireBox 8×6 LT uses standard Canadian household current, but a dedicated 20 amp electrical circuit is required. The kiln has an electrical cord with a special Canadian CSA Standard NEM 5-20 plug. This specialty plug requires a matching socket to be installed at your location.

Stay Cool Handle

Glass fusers are always lifting their lids when their kilns are hot to check on their project. The wood handle on the FireBox 8×6 LT stays cool even when the kiln is at peak temperature.

Lid Opens Over 90 Degrees

Why is this important? We're glad you asked. When the lid is able to open past 90 degrees it will not be in your way when you go to load your shelf.
